First-Aid Measures
- Inhalation: Rescuers should put on appropriate protective gear. Remove from the area of exposure. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Keep victim warm. Get immediate medical attention. To prevent aspiration, keep head below knees.
- Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with water for a minimum of 15 minutes, occasionally lifting and lowering the upper lids. Get medical attention promptly.
- Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with soap and water. Get medical attention. Wash clothing separately and clean shoes before reuse.
- Ingestion: If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. Give the victim a glass of water. Call a physician or poison control center immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Fire-Fighting Measures
- Extinguishing Media: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam, water fog.
- Specific Hazards: Highly flammable liquid and vapor. Vapors may cause flash fire or explosion and can travel to a source of ignition and flash back. Empty containers retain product residue (liquid and/or vapor) and can be dangerous. Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose such containers to heat, flame, sparks, static electricity, or other ignition sources. Do not reuse containers without commercial cleaning or reconditioning.
- Special Protective Equipment: As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus (pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH approved or equivalent) and full protective gear.

Accidental Release Measures
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (see Exposure Controls / Personal Protection). Eliminate all ignition sources. Prevent additional discharge of material if it can be done safely. Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Avoid runoff into storm sewers and ditches that lead to waterways. Ventilate the spill area and stay upwind. A vapor-suppressing foam may be used to reduce vapors. If the leak or spill has not ignited, use water spray to disperse the vapors. Collect spilled materials for disposal using only non-combustible material and clean, non-sparking tools. Absorb the spill with inert material (e.g., dry sand or earth), then place in a chemical waste container. Recover by pumping with an explosion-proof or hand pump.
Handling and Storage
- Handling: Use only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid breathing vapor, fumes, or mist. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Ground and bond containers when transferring material. Use spark-proof tools and explosion-proof equipment. Always open containers slowly to allow excess pressure to vent. Follow all SDS/label precautions even after containers are emptied, as they may retain product residue.
